Many teenagers are given pocket money by their parents. However, young people think that it is not enough for their needs. As a result, the question whether they should have a part – time job often comes up.
From my point of view, I believe that teenagers should be allowed to work if they want to. To begin with, it will give them a very useful introduction about world of work. By earning money, teenagers can learn how business works as well as get some work experience. Secondly, part – tome job will teach young people to value things and make them more responsible and careful with money. In addition, teenagers will be more independent of their parents by earning extra money.
On the contrary, parents are afraid that part – time job will take up too much time. They also believe that young people should concentrate on their studies.
Nevertheless, I think that there are plenty of jobs that do not take too much teenagers’ time or may be done at weekends such as delivering newspapers or babysitting. Moreover, teenagers can find a holiday job during the summer so it will not interfere them from studying.
In conclusion, I want to stress that young people will benefit from having a part – time job so I would like to have one. However, we should not forget that our jobs must not distract us from studies.
